What kind of dog is Benji?

Benji many very popular films was a dog character named. Dogs that played Benji is so cute and was so intelligent, that it's natural for many people like him just want to own a dog is.

- So what kind of dog Benji, anyway?

Unfortunately, that answer the question as simple as it seems, is not out of the dog who starred in the films were part mutts. The first dog that played Benji's character was named Higgins. His trainer, Frank Inn, her Burbank, California found in a dog pound.

Trainer was often asked what kind of dog it was, and his best guess is a small schnauzer, a miniature poodle, and was a cross between a Cocker spaniel. Let's call him a "cockaschnoodle," just for fun.

Benji is the only part that Higgins was not played. He is also the TV show Petticoat Junction, which was popular in the 1960s was a regular guest. 'Higgins films mooch his first appearance in a character goes to Hollywood in 1971 as was. He is 15 years old and officially "retired" when he first Benji film was ready to play.

'Higgins daughter and then took the role of Benji in movies from 1977 to 1989 played a part. Higgins looks a lot like he was, except her fur was soft and fluffier, and he had a white patch on his snout. Because the role when she was only 11 months old began to play, he had called in both real life and movies "Benji".

Was repeated for the role film Benji: Off the leash! In 2004, another shelter dog was ready to run. A nationwide search for the right dog took three months and was widely encouraged others to adopt shelter dogs in an effort reported. Finally, part of a cross breed dog that looked (and was easy to train) Gulfport Humane Society of South Mississippi was found.

What kind of dog is Benji - and this brings us back to my original question? And the answer - all dogs have been mutts that played Benji in the movies. And 'daughter with the exception of Higgins, all adopted from an animal shelter where many more lovable, trainable and devastatingly cute dogs are now waiting for a permanent home.
